Financial Controller

Luxury Caribbean Resorts

Our client, an international hotel group recognized for its delivery of world class service, now has an opportunity for a Financial Controller to join their luxury hotel group in locations throughout the Caribbean .


The Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Director & CEO, the position is primarily responsible to ensure the viability and profitability of the Property by implementing and maintaining consistent and systematic accountability controls over the company's resources as well as providing effective analyses and management reports. At the property level, the Financial Controller is expected to take a hands-on approach so as to fully appreciate the synergies between finance and operations, thereby offering prudent and appropriate financial guidance to the General Manager to ensure sustainability of the business.

We have been asked to seek Managers who look at a basic property and turn it into the grandest and most fabulous place to vacation, who will work to their fullest potential & beliefs. Managers who will also ensure staff enjoyed a better life through their work with the hotel chain and we seek liked minded managers to reduce complex problems into quick solutions.

 

The Person

  • Ideally, applicants should have the ACCA or CPA designation, with an experience profile that includes an Audit Firm, plus several years in commercial accounting, of which at least four will have been at the Controller level gained in the Hotel or Hospitality Industry.
  • Significant computer literacy and critical thinking skills are essential.
  • Professionalism, effective time management and acceptance of responsibility are attributes that are considered critical to success in this role.
  • An astute, highly credible communicator with excellent people management and relationship-building skills.

  • Lead teams to achieve the highest standards in a high quality environment
  • Managers able to effectively communicate and motivate large teams
  • Provide training and development opportunities
  • To control costs and increase profitability
  • Managers with quality volume backgrounds
  • Provide onsite marketing and PR to travelling FAM trips and sales agents.
  • Ensure all guests' enormous expectations are met.

Managers will be shortlisted based upon

  • Exceptional references
  • Exceptional proven track record
  • Ability to present themselves, clearly in writing detailing a similar successful career in large volume operations.
  • Proven Caribbean or resort background and experience
  • Strong food & beverage backgrounds.
