EXECUTIVE PASTRY CHEF

Salary from US$36,000 per annum


This Resort and International Spa is of a 5 star rating and is decorated to  compliment the Islands environment.   The resort consists of over 95 rooms and suites and also offers beach front villas and garden pavilions and with a combination of public and private pools.

Guests  will have access to an extensive water sports and facilities such as boat and yacht charter, tennis courts, a fitness centre and a modern spa centre.   Interested candidates must ideally have had Caribbean , or, Island location and Restaurant Chef experience, also they must have a proven track record and may also have been previously involved in refurbishments or new openings.  We are looking at a very tactile manager who like to lead from the front and who inspire, motivate and develop their team.

The candidate will be part of a team 30 chefs, servicing three restaurants, (1 gourmet dining, 1 casual dining and 1 beach dining), room service, beach service, afternoon tea - this hotel has only the highest standards and traditions

Ideally the candidate will have an innovative creative style, offering an eclectic mix of cuisine adapting local specialities, but with a modern European twist combined with haute cuisine and health orientated food, and maybe a little Asia experience. Coupled with this, you will also have a strong base in breads and pastry as well as innovative desserts, and be able to train and develop the team to attain similar skills.

This is a single position due the nature of the location and this person must be able to develop the team, thus excellent man management skills will be necessary as well as assisting or taking charge of the following:

•  Exceptional training skills with excellent background in pastry and breads as well as mouth watering desserts;

•  Extensive European as well as international experience;

•  Sourcing, ordering and quality control;

•  Must have excellent management skills to help develop his/her team; and oversee two restaurants (one gourmet dining, one contemporary dining), room service, beach service and afternoon tea;

•  Work closely with the Executive Chef for development of innovative cost effective products;

•  Previous Caribbean experience an advantage.

The package include a tax free salary, accommodation, use of facilities, annual return flight to country of residence or passport country amongst other benefits.
