PASTRY CHEF

NEW ZEALAND - SALARY $30,000 LIVE OUT

We are currently seeking an outstanding pastry chef who will be happy to take on a position in one of New Zealand 's most luxurious resorts in North Island . The role is a very good one, however, you will have to work in a team of one but as part of a large kitchen team of ten.

The pastry chef will prepare an ala carte lunch menu, but in the evening a SET MENU EXISTS, where only one dessert is necessary. Therefore we are seeking someone very creative with a wide range of pastry, dessert and bakery skills

There is no restaurant or bar as such, but there is a main kitchen since dining is offered all around the lodges and also in private villa's ( luxurious Lodges), offering a set menu (5 course at night) Small a la carte for lunch and Breakfast.

Cooking is personalised for each guest where a chef will cook for you or you may also choose to self cater. In total, there could be 50 guests to cater for at any one time.

The suitable candidate will have a fine dining background and will cater for to a modern style of cooking, with probably a good mix of cooking style and pastry may be an advantage. It is thought that the candidate could be relatively young aged 25-40, looking for an exclusive career path.

The stunning resort is virtually completely hidden from view and is a luxurious hideaway which enjoys stunning views downstream. With spacious guest suites are anchored by a central living room, dining area, kitchen and a den. The suites all have super-king size beds. All suites enjoy the romance of their own fireplace. Each suite also has a magnificent en-suite bathroom. Each suite has cathedral style ceilings and generous use of glazing means the bathrooms enjoy great natural light levels. Some of the guest suites face the river while the other two enjoy a beautiful private courtyard garden aspect. These gardens also feature one of the magnificent outdoor fireplaces.

The salary is negotiable and would probably suite a single candidate. The position is live out and accommodation is estimated at $ 5,000 per year
